Dr. Maureen Dorsey is the hospital owner and director.  A UC Davis graduate, she began her career in veterinary medicine as a kennel assistant, became a groomer, completed an associates degree in animal health technology, and worked as a virology technician for the Center of Reproduction of Endangered Species at the San Diego Zoo before going to UC Davis for a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.  While attending the college, she also assisted in research of Feline Immunodeficiency Virus in Niels Pederson’s laboratory.

Dr. Dorsey was an associate veterinarian in the Bay Area before purchasing Oakland Veterinary Hospital in 1995.

Our support staff- Lupe, Emma, Zib, Jamilah, and Vanessa do a great job assisting the doctors in patient care and provide compassionate, attentive service to the humans!

We would like to express our deepest thanks to Dr Cecilie Hart who has been an associate since 1992 and has served our patients and their owners with care and compassion. We wish her well in her retirement!
